Background
The need for a national network of migrant organisations was identified through the research undertaken from 2005-2006 exploring the possibility for closer collaboration between different groups.
The research laid bare the need to establish a proper network among groups to enable them to overcome their isolation, to share information and to increase their capacity to effectively influence national policy on issues affecting them.
The outcome of the work was set out in the report 'Migrant Voices, Migrant Rights'. Its recommendations led to establishing a permanent network of organisations working to support the development of migrants' rights across the UK through national policy debates, and enhance cooperation across a wide range of organisations.
Since 2006 Migrants' Rights Network established itself as a national resource for groups in support of migrants, providing a platform for debate, policy analysis, advocacy and campaigning.
