Steps to restore trust in immigration system published

Think-tank British Future has published Immigration, the manifesto challenge – 10 steps to restore public trust on immigration and integration.

British Future poses ten key questions about future immigration policy choices which voters will want parties and candidates to be able to answer during the campaign.

It then offers the think-tank’s own detailed proposals in answer to those questions: ten practical measures which could help to rebuild trust and confidence in how immigration and integration is managed in Britain, including:

  • investing properly in an immigration system that is effective, fair and humane.
  • a new UK migration deal with the EU to replace free movement.
  • Britain’s first ever Comprehensive Immigration Review and set sensible targets for immigration controls.
  • a national integration strategy.
