![]() | Work Report 2006-9: Building Platforms for progressive policies
This report outlines MRN activities from December 2006 to December 2009. It is the first of MRN's annual reports. We expect that, with the widespread involvement of groups across the UK, the future story will be one of progress and achievement.
The Migrants' Rights Network was launched at a conference in November 2006, and since then our work has unfolded via ongoing discussions and debates with a range of groups across the country. Regional groups sponsored MRN roundtable discussions in Scotland and Wales, and in the English North West, West Midlands and Greater London. |

The workshop was part of the EU funded CLANDESTINO project – “Undocumented Migration: Counting the Uncountable. Data and Trends across Europe” and brought together nearly 150 participants including representatives of NGOs and trade unions, researchers, local authorities, policy makers, journalists, and other professionals to discuss policies and responses to irregular migration in the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.
This report provides an overview of the contributions from the speakers as well as an insight into the main themes dicsussed both in the plenary and in the workshop sessions. |
